Bexhill and Battle stretches from the Sussex coast inland across a large part of Rother. Bexhill is its biggest urban centre, while Battle forms the principal inland town. The constituency also includes Robertsbridge, Ticehurst, Burwash, Sedlescombe, Catsfield, Crowhurst and a number of smaller villages, together with Pevensey Bay and part of the Pevensey Levels. This creates a marked contrast between the seaside town of Bexhill, the historic inland centre of Battle and a wide rural area of villages, farmland and wooded countryside. Much of inland Rother lies within the High Weald landscape, so the constituency combines coastal development and low-lying land with more rolling and wooded country farther north.
