Beaconsfield is a south Buckinghamshire constituency made up of a series of towns, villages and suburban communities rather than one continuous urban area. Alongside Beaconsfield itself, the seat includes Marlow, Bourne End, Wooburn, Flackwell Heath, Iver, Stoke Poges and parts of Denham and Gerrards Cross, as well as the Farnham Common and Burnham Beeches area. The constituency reaches from communities close to the western edge of London across the Thames-side towns around Marlow and Bourne End. Woodland, river valleys and open countryside separate many of its settlements, giving the seat a mixed character of commuter towns, larger villages and rural land across southern Buckinghamshire.
