Banbury is centred on the north Oxfordshire town of Banbury but extends well beyond the built-up area into a broad rural hinterland. It includes villages and smaller settlements around Adderbury, Bloxham, Bodicote, Cropredy, Deddington and Wroxton, and reaches west into parts of West Oxfordshire around Chipping Norton, Charlbury, Finstock and the Rollright area. Banbury itself is the constituency’s largest population and commercial centre, while the remainder of the seat is predominantly made up of market towns, villages and countryside. The result is a geographically varied constituency stretching from the Cherwell valley into the northern Cotswolds, with a clear contrast between Banbury’s urban neighbourhoods and the lower-density communities surrounding them.
