What this bill is about
The Street Works (Penalties for Utility Companies) Bill Bill would make changes to how Fixed Penalty Notices are issued and how minimum penalties are calculated when a utility company commits certain offences under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. In particular, it would provide for the daily issuance of Fixed Penalty Notices and would require that the minimum amount of any such penalty be equal to the costs linked to issuing the related notice. The bill also includes connected provisions.
