Prorogation

Prorogation is the formal end of a parliamentary session. When Parliament is prorogued, most parliamentary business ends, and bills that have not completed their passage may fall unless special arrangements such as carry-over apply. It is closely linked to sessions, State Opening and the King’s Speech.
