Also used as: parliamentary session, parliamentary sessions

A session is the period during which Parliament conducts business between one State Opening of Parliament and the next. Bills, debates, questions, committee work, and other proceedings take place within a session. Sessions are important because the timetable of parliamentary business, and the survival of some bills, can depend on where Parliament is in the session.
