What happened

The amendment said the King’s Speech should have included proposals to negotiate a UK–EU customs union. It called on the Government to open negotiations with the European Union on creating such a customs union, saying this would start to address damage caused by the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. The amendment was defeated, so it was not added to the King’s Speech motion.

The latest division was recorded as motion negatived with 78 Ayes and 408 Noes.
