What this bill is about
The Coastal Communities (Health) Bill would place duties on the Secretary of State when exercising health-service functions to take account of the need to reduce health inequalities between people in coastal and inland areas. It would also require the Secretary of State to prepare and publish a strategy to improve the health and wellbeing of coastal communities and reduce those inequalities, with annual reports to Parliament on how the strategy is being implemented.
